FAQs
Good questions.
Practical answers about events, age, access, food, alcohol, weather, photography, groups and booking.
Who are Forge 54 events for?
Most Forge 54 experiences are designed primarily for men. We also run selected events for couples, families, fathers and children, younger people and other specifically designed groups. Each event page will make clear who that experience is for.
Do I need barbecue or cooking experience?
Not unless a specific event says otherwise. Many experiences are designed so people can learn by doing, ask questions and build confidence as they go. Check the individual event page for any required experience level.
Can I come on my own?
Yes. People may come individually, with a mate or as part of a group. We design the welcome and the day so people can take part without needing to arrive already knowing everyone.
Are events 18+?
Standard Forge 54 events are generally 18+. Teenagers and younger people can take part through specific youth, family or parent-and-child experiences designed with the right safeguarding, supervision, consent and insurance arrangements.
Can women attend?
Forge 54 is men-first, not men-only. Many standard experiences are designed primarily for men, while selected couples, family and other mixed events are clearly labelled.
Can you accommodate dietary requirements?
Tell us as early as possible. We will explain what can reasonably be accommodated for the specific event. Where alcohol is used in cooking, an appropriate non-alcoholic alternative should be available.
What if I have an accessibility requirement?
We want people to take part and will make reasonable adjustments wherever we can to help them do that safely and with dignity. Some activities involve fire, knives, outdoor ground conditions or specialist equipment, so we will always be honest about genuine limitations. Contact us before booking if you want to talk through what would help.
Is alcohol part of Forge 54 events?
It can be part of some adult experiences, but never at the expense of safety, inclusion or judgement. Intoxication is not acceptable around fire, knives or cooking equipment, and drivers do not drink during Forge 54 events. Groups can request an alcohol-free experience.
What happens if the weather changes?
Forge 54 is an outdoor live-fire experience, so weather is part of the environment. Each event page and pre-event information will explain what to wear, what to bring and any event-specific arrangements. If Forge 54 needs to change or cancel an event, the applicable booking terms will explain what happens next.
Can I take photos and video?
Yes, where it is appropriate and respectful. We like the principle: capture the day without missing the day. Please respect other people’s privacy and any event-specific photography guidance.
Will you share my details with other participants?
No. Contact-sharing between participants should always be consent-based. We can help create the opportunity to connect without handing out personal information without permission.
Can I book a private group?
Yes. Friends, companies, churches, charities and community organisations can enquire about tailored experiences. Selected family and youth formats may also be available where specifically designed.
Can community organisations get help with cost?
Possibly. Every event has a cost and a value, but eligible church, charity or community groups may be able to access subsidy through grants or donations. Talk to us about the group and the need rather than making assumptions about individual participants.
What is the Forge 54 community?
After attending, people can stay connected through the free online community, hear about future paid experiences and explore volunteer opportunities. Free in-person meetups and community meals are not part of the committed launch offer.
What is your cancellation or transfer policy?
The final cancellation, transfer and refund terms will be set out in the booking terms and linked clearly from each event. Do not rely on assumptions or informal messages where the published terms apply.
