Our values are not words for a wall. They are standards for how we host, teach, serve, spend, lead and treat people.

Integrity
We do what we say we will do.
Keep promises. Tell the truth. Communicate early when circumstances change. Protect the trust people place in Forge 54. Do not compromise the mission because money is available.

Belonging
There is a place around the fire for you.
Welcome people without judgement. Notice the person on the edge. Treat people with dignity. Make it clear that everybody has something to contribute, not just something to receive.

Accountability
We take responsibility for what weβre entrusted with.
Own choices and mistakes. Handle money, equipment, time, information and opportunities responsibly. Measure whether we are doing what we say we exist to do.

Excellence
We do things to the highest standard we can, on time, and with as little waste as possible.
Prepare properly. Use quality equipment and ingredients. Take safety, cleanliness and detail seriously. Reduce waste. Pursue quality without becoming elitist or pretentious.
The balance
Excellence without belonging becomes elitism. Belonging without accountability becomes vague. Accountability without integrity becomes compliance. Integrity holds the whole system together.
